Awarded as web hero of the year at Web Awards

Last night the annual web industry award ceremony was held. I was proud and honored as I was awarded as the web hero of the year.

I didn't do anything particularly remarkable or interesting last year so I look at this more of lifetime achievement award. Which also makes me feel old :)

This award was presented by an organization that I helped create and for a few years I sat on the board and helped lead as chairman. We organized multiple smaller events and larger conferences. Although I haven't been active in the organization for many years it's great to see that talented and ambitious people have taken over.

I hope that the hard work has helped other people grow and helped the industry blossom. I am grateful for the opportunity I have had to to work with so many amazing people throughout the years.
